Countdown on for huge weekend of hurling action

The countdown is on for the 8 sides left in the county senior hurling championship ahead of this weekends quarter finals.

Tomorrow sees Cratloe take on Tulla in the opener in Cusack Park at 3-45 while that game is followed by Sixmilebridge and Inagh Kilnamona at 5-45.

Holders Crusheen continue their defense on Sunday agsint Broadford while Clonlara meet Kilmaley in the final q-fianl at quarter to 6 on Sunday.

The race to regain senior status  also continues this weekend as Shannon hosts the county intermediate semi finals on Sunday.

A north Clare derby gets the action started as Corofin take on Ruan at 1pm hoping to bounce back from their last group game defeat to Eire Og.

Meanwhile the second semi final sees parteen take on Eire og at 2-30.

The Townies are looking to gain promotion at the third time of asking while Parteen will be aiming to finally escape from the intermediate ranks in 2011 following several near misses over the past decade.
