Joint Clare hurling boss Gerry O’Connor feels it’s crucial Ballyea are mentally prepared for the challenge facing them in the All Ireland Club Final.

The men in black and amber head to Croke Park tomorrow to face Dublin side Cuala with the winners taking ownership of the Tommy Moore Cup for the first time in their history.

Ballyea are understood to have a clean bill of health ahead of the game, with the team likely to be finalised later.

Meanwhile one of Ballyea’s key men feels they have made their own luck throughout the campaign.

Dramatic victories over Thurles Sarsfields and St Thomas’s in the Munster and All Ireland semi finals came either side of a dominant display in the provincial decider against Glen Rovers.

Gary Brennan’s late goal against Thurles was one of the most memorable moments of the year, and he says they’ve been rewarded for their refusal to give in.
