Two of the most recent clubs to join the ranks of the Clare senior hurling championship will face off in the first game of this year’s race for the Canon Hamilton.
2020 intermediate champions Scariff take on last year’s winners St Joseph’s Doora Barefield at Dr Daly Park in Tulla on Saturday afternoon.
Last year saw the East Clare side secure a third campaign in the top tier after victory over Smith O’Brien’s in the relegation playoffs.
Scariff manager Mark McKenna feels the experience his side have gained since making the step up is something that will stand to them.
