Cork overcome Clare in Minor Munster Clash

Clare’s minors were undone by a strong finish from the Cork opposition in last night’s Munster Quarter Final  at Páirc Uí Rinn.

The Rebels got off to an early lead but the Banner side then fought back with an opening goal from Bobby Duggan – the talented corner-forward adding two points among a raft of scores before being fouled for a penalty

Duggan drilled to the net for a 2-4 to 2-3 lead and at the break  Clare were ahead by by 2-8 to 2-5 .

However Cork fought back in the second half and with nine minutes of normal time left – and a flurry of four points only answered by a Duggan free – the hosts snatched victory  3-15 to 2-14.

Despite the final score – Clare Minor Manager Eamon Fennessey says his side put in a very strong performance.
