The Rebels got off to an early lead but the Banner side then fought back with an opening goal from Bobby Duggan – the talented corner-forward adding two points among a raft of scores before being fouled for a penalty

Duggan drilled to the net for a 2-4 to 2-3 lead and at the break  Clare were ahead by by 2-8 to 2-5 .

However Cork fought back in the second half and with nine minutes of normal time left – and a flurry of four points only answered by a Duggan free – the hosts snatched victory  3-15 to 2-14.

Despite the final score – Clare Minor Manager Eamon Fennessey says his side put in a very strong performance.
