Ireland's Paul and Gary O'Donovan have bagged a silver medal at Rio 2016.
The Cork brothers have won Ireland's first Olympic rowing medal after a superb performance over the final 500 metres to claim a podium spot in the Lightweight Doubles Sculls.
After leading for most of the race, France took the gold medal after they were pushed all the way by the O'Donovans, who missed-out on the top-spot by a second.
Third were Norway, who were just under two tenths of a second behind the O'Donovans.
Earlier, there was disappointment for the Women's pair of Sinead Lynch and Claire Lambe, who finished in sixth place in their final.
The pair were never really in contention in the outside lane and finished in a time of 7 minutes 13.09 seconds, which was almost ten seconds behind gold medal winners, the Netherlands with Canada pipping China to the silver medal.
On the track, Mark English has qualified from his Heat in the 800 metres.
The Donegal man finished in third place in Heat 6 today in a time of 1 minute 46.40 seconds, which was enough to send him through to the next round.
