Clare have kick started their League campaign with a convincing seven point win over Waterford in Dungarvan this afternoon.
Colm Collins side led 1-05 to 6 points at half time, helped in a big part by an early goal through Kilmihils Martin O’Leary, who was making his senior debut.
The hosts opened the scoring with a point after the restart, but Clare again asserted their dominance hitting 2-05 without reply.
Paul White goaled for Waterford at the death of the game, leaving it 3-10 to 1-09.
Enda coughlan had been named to start at centre back, but pulled up with an injury just before throw in, while in better news, Gordon Kelly came off the bench in the second half as he returns from an injury lay off.
