Clare GAA has confirmed that the county board had no involvement in the distribution of tickets for Sunday’s Munster hurling semi-final.
It was announced last night that the game would be held as a test event, with 3,000 fans set to be in attendance at the LIT Gaelic Grounds to watch Clare and Tipperary.
A statement from Munster GAA outlined that tickets would be made available to clubs in Clare and Tipperary at 9am this morning, but there has been some confusion after the tickets went on general sale through the Ticketmaster system.
Clare GAA PRO Michael O’Connor says club secretaries were expecting to be issued an allocation based on requests from members.

Munster GAA received confirmation on Thursday evening from the Department of Sport that Sunday’s Munster Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final between Tipperary and Clare would be classified as a pilot event with a maximum of 3,000 supporters permitted to attend.
Sunday’s game will be a reserved seating event with each pod being separated by 2 metres from the next to ensure adequate social distancing. All supporters are reminded to follow Covid guidelines and to wear a face covering during Sunday’s game.
