Combo Claim Innaugral U-19 County Honours In Action Packed Finale

Inagh-Kilnamona have claimed the first ever Clare U-19 hurling championship after a stunning 5-22 to 4-15 victory over Sixmilebridge in Cusack Park.

Played in the scorching twenty-five degree heat, the on field action proved to be the days hottest property as a the sides served up a thrilling encounter.

Sixmilebridge raised the first green flag of the day as full forward Dara Casey found the net on four minutes to put his side into a 1-01 to 0-02 lead.

Josh Guyler was the first of five Inagh Kilnamona men to goal on eleven minutes when he put his side a point in front at 1-05 to 1-04 as the sides now shared ten scores in just over as many minutes.

Jack Lyons raised the third green flag of the day before a stoppage time effort from Ronan Mescall ensured a commanding half time lead for the North Clare side who went 3-13 to 1-07 in front.

On the restart Jack Mescall found the net increasing his sides advantage to fourteen points, however the Bridge man saw this as no reason to throw in the towel and remarkably added three goals in the next ten minutes thanks to a braceĀ  from centre forward Luke O’Halloran before David Kennedy found the target on forty-two minutes and reduced the deficit to seven.

Both sides kept the scoreboard ticking over smoothly in the final quarter before Sean Rynne got the final goal of the day just before full time, ensuring Inagh-Kilnamona ran out comprehensive winners on a final score line of 5-22 to 4-15
