The Banner went down by the minimum against Kildare on Saturday evening on a score of 0-13 to 0-12, with seven unanswered points from the Lilywhites stealing victory.

2014 marked the first year that Clare have played five championship games since 1917, and saw them win their first game in the qualifiers since 2006.

Clare will play in Division Three of the Allianz Football League in 2015, and Collins says that he's proud of the Banners progress.

Meanwhile captain Gary Brennan says that Saturday night's defeat will serve as a learning curve for his side.

Clare had chances to close the game out in the second half, but failure to convert them proved costly.

With promotion gained from the bottom tier of the League , and an appearance in Croke Park for the Division Four final in 2014, it's been a successful year for Clare overall.

However, the Clondegad man says the squad wont be resting easy in 2015.
