Clare football manager Colm Collins says their decision not to compete in the 2015 McGrath Cup was taken purely in terms of their preperation for the season ahead.

The Banner withdrew from last year compeition in protest at the return of the seeded draw to the Munster Football Championship, which saw Cork and Kerry seeded in opposite sides of the semi final draw.
That decision was reversed for the 2015 championship, and while Cork and Kerry are still given a bye to the semi final, an open draw is now in place.
The draw was made last night for the pre season McGrath Cup, and Collins says Clare's preperations will be best served by not taking part in the competition.
