Cody says underdog status helped his side

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody has admitted his sides underdog staus ahead of the All Ireland final helped relive the pressure on  his players.

Kilkenny claimed their 8th All Ireland title of the Cody era after a 2-17 to 1-16 win over Tipperary in the sides third final pairing in a row.

The premier county went into  the game as the favourites and Cody felt that his side were helped by the expectation of a two in a row for Declan ryan’s men:

It is Tipp’s second loss in three years to Kilkenny in an All ireland final and means the wait for the county to record back to back All Ireland titles continues.

Manager Declan Ryan however says his players will bounce back from the loss:
