As the build up continues to Clare’s National Hurling League Opener against Kilkenny, the latest bout of bad weather has led to speculation about the venue for Sundays Clash.
It's billed as the stand out fixture of round one, as Davy Fitzgerald’s All Ireland holders go up against the Champions of 2012, but at this stage in the week much of the debate surrounds Sunday’s venue.
A County board spokesperson has told Clare FM that while the pitch will continue to be assessed over the coming days, the fixture IS expected to go ahead at the county grounds.
With as many as 10 thousand expected at Sunday’s game, some reports have suggested the game could be moved to the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick to accommodate large interest.
Last weeks Football league clash between Clare and Leitrim was forced to move to Miltown just over 24 hours ahead of the game, but the board say that improved forecasts for Saturday and Sunday mean they are "hopeful" Cusack Park will play host.
