The July meeting of Clare GAA heard 16 people are in the running for the newly-created role, with the successful applicant set to oversee the ‘effective development’ of both codes in the county.

It’s understood initial interviews for the role took place in mid-August, with final selection interviews ongoing.

An update on the recruitment process will form part of an overall update on Clare GAA’s Strategic Plan tonight, with clubs also set to be notified on the target dates of some of the plan’s priorities.

Management teams across both codes are also set to be ratified this evening, with the management of the Clare minor hurlers also set to provide a full review of their season which saw them reach an All Ireland semi final.

A proposed schedule of fixtures to conclude both the club hurling and football championships is also expected.

This evening’s proceedings get underway in Caherlohan from 7.15pm.
