Clooney Quin’s perfect start to the 2009 Clare cup season has ended afer they were beaten by Newmarket on Fergus last evening by 2-15 to 2-12.
In a fast and at times frantic game of hurling Clooney trailed at half time by 1-12 to 2-7 despite two goals from Derek Ryan in the opening period which were responded to by a cul from Bernmard Gaffney from 20 meteres.
Clooney/Quin however remain top of the table level with Newamrket on 10 points with their next outing away to Sixmilebridge on Thursday at 7.30PM.
