Clooney/Quin and The Mills clock up points in Senior Hurling Action

 

There were wins for Clooney/Quin and O O’Callaghans Mills in last nights Round three clashes of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship.

Clooney/Quin gained their much needed opening points of the championship after overcoming Ballyea 3-15 to 1-14 in Clarecastle and outscored their opponents 2-8 to 0-5 in the second half.

While at Cusack Park the Mills came out on top of their must win encounter with Wolfe Tones – on a comfortable scoreline of 3-14 to 15 points.

The sides were level at half time  1-5 to 0-8  but two further goals for O Callaghan’s Mills within minutes of each other less than ten minutes into the second half decided the final result

Meanwhile the action in round 3 of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship continues with one more fixture tonight.

Clonlara are overwhelming favourites for their clash against Killanena in Sixmilebridge.  Throw in is at 7:00.

However, the 2008 county champions will be without a number of key players for the game, among them Darach Honan and Domhnall O’Donovan.

With this in mind, manager Tom Moloney is taking nothing for granted
