Brian Cody has had since last July to ponder his 2014 campaign, having been knocked out of the championship in last year’s Quarter-Finals.

Clare didn’t face the cats en route to last year’s All-Ireland Success,, and while Newmarket’s Ryan admits Banner sides of old may have feared the quality of Kilkenny, that won’t be the case on Sunday.

Dublin have selected 11 of the team that faced Cork in last August's All-Ireland semi-final for Sunday's Allianz league opener against Galway in Salthill.

Cian O'Callaghan and Simon Timlin come into the full back line while Shane Durkin will partner team captain Johnny McCaffrey in midfield .

Cork Manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy has named an experienced side for their game against Limerick Páirc uí Rinn, which features 10 of the side that started last year's All Ireland final replay.

Dual star Aidan Walsh will make his senior debut for the Cork hurlers after being named at full-forward, while Eoin Cadogan is named on the bench alongside his brother Alan.  Conor O'Sullivan, Seamus Harnedy and team captain Patrick Cronin are all missing through injury.

The Tipperary team to play Waterford on Saturday in Semple Stadium has also been named.

Right corner-back Cathal Barrett will be the only league debutant in Eamon O'Shea's team, which will be captained by midfielder Brendan Maher.  There's a total of 7 changes to the Tipperary team which captured the Waterford Crystal Cup last weekend, with recalls for the likes of Noel McGrath, Padraic Maher and Jason Forde.  Shane Mc Grath features at wing back.
