Clare’s National hurling League campaign has come to an end.
The Banner lost out to Kilkenny at Semple Stadium this afternoon, in a final score of 1-20 to 0-14.
The first half of the match was keenly fought, with no more then 2 points ever seperating the sides.
However, it was Kilkenny who led at the break 0-8 to 0-7.
The Cats had a penalty saved in that first half, but found a goal early on in the second period when Matthew Ruth blasted home a saved Eoin Larkin shot.
Thereafter, Kilkenny extended their lead and ran out winners with that nine-point margin.
The Cats now face either Cork or Tipperary in the League Final – Clare’s next competitive outing is their Munster Championship semi-final clash with Waterford in June.
