Clarecastle defeated Wolfe Tones by a point in their match in Sixmilebridge at the weekend.
Wolfe Tones still managed to make it to the quarter-final on scoring difference, while Clarecastle now face into a relegation play-off.
However their manager, Brian Russell, says that Clarecastle showed their mettle in to record their first championship win of the season against the Shannon men.
