The outgoing chairman of the Clare county board says he’s confident the Banner won’t fall behind other counties in terms of funding and resources in 2021.

Joe Cooney’s five year term comes to an end this evening, with either PJ McGuane of Cooraclare or Cratloe’s Jack Chaplin to take the role at this evening’s annual convention.

Over €900,000 was spent on county teams this year according to county board accounts, with income significantly reduced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
