Clare’s senior hurlers remain in the All Ireland series after they emerged victorious in today’s qualifier against Wexford.

Brian Lohan’s side were dominant in the first quarter and were spurred on by a Cathal Malone goal, though a Wexford fight back towards the end of the half saw just five points between the sides at the break.

In a second half that ebbed and flowed, a goal from Gary Cooney proved crucial to cancel out a late Lee Chin strike, with the Banner emerging 2-25 to 2-22 winners.
