Clare continued their Munster Championship preparations with a 3-19 to 2-18 win over Anthony Daly's Dublin in the Ger Loughnane Cancer Challenge in Cusack Park.
The Banner led 2-13 to 2-9 at half time, thanks mainly to a dominant closing 15 minutes that saw them outscore the Dubs by 2-8 to 0-3. Dublin led by 2-7 to 0-5 after 18 minutes, with goals from David Dotsy O'Callaghan and Alan McCrabbe. Clare's response was immediate, and goals from Colm Galvin and Darach Honan gave them that 4 point lead at the break.
The second half was a close affair, with the sides trading scores repeatedly. The sides were level at 2-17 a piece before Colin Ryan latched on to David Reidy's pass across the square to net his sides third goal. Further points from Ryan and Davy O'Halloran followed and Alan McCrabbe's 10th point of the game left the final score Clare 3-18 Dublin 2-18.
21 of Davy Fitzgeralds side saw action last night, while Colin Ryan top scored with 1-6, with all his points coming from place balls.
