The All Ireland Under-21 Football Championship is potentially on the chopping block as the GAA attempts to ease concerns over fixture over-crowding.

GAA Director General Paraic Duffy has published a discussion paper that not only proposes the removal the Under-21 grade from football, but bring the All Ireland Football final forward to the first Sunday in September.

Since its release, the proposals have received much criticism from both players and mangers, who have referred to them as "unrealistic and non-progressive".
