Clare’s U20 footballers opened their Phase Two series of the Munster championship with a battling defeat against Cork.
The Rebels raised three green flags en route to a 3-16 to 1-13 victory over Maurice Walsh’s outfit.

Two of those goals came in the opening half, while a dominant third quarter gave Cork a lead that Clare just couldn’t reel in.
A number of players were unavailable for the Banner due to illness, something Walsh felt was a factor when they needed to dig deep.
