Clare through to last 8 of Oscar Traynor Cup

Starting with Soccer and the Clare Oscar Traynor cup side are into the last 8 of the competition after a thrilling 3-2 win over Cork today in Newmarket.

In a game played in difficult conditions but on an excellent surface Clare took the lead through Stephen Hickey on the stroke of half time.

However, Clare were rocked inside the opening minutes of the second half by 2 quick fire Cork goals,the second coming after goalkeeper John  Healy was replaced by Kieran Mc Glynn.

Clare were level on 65 minutes when Richard Lillis cut in from the left and let go from the edge of the box to level matters at 2 all.

It was then left to Con Collins to put Clare through with an effort in the last minute from the edge of the box which clipped the underside of the bar on its way into the net.

Clare now await the draw in the new year to see who they wil face in the q-finals.
