Clare Suffer Narrow Defeat In National Camogie League Clash With Tipp

National Camogie League Division 2B: Clare: 0-12 (12) V Tipperary 2-07 (13)

The Clare Intermediates have suffered defeat by the narrowest of margins in the second round of the National Camogie League this afternoon.

In a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland Junior Camogie Final, the Banner got off to a solid start in Meelick to lead by 0-08 to 0-05 at the break.

However a barren spell of twenty-one minutes without a score in the second half would ultimately be Clare’s undoing, with Tipperary’s Sinead Meagher plundering for a goal on 42 minutes after expertly fielding a high delivery into the square.

Moments later though, Meagher would turn the provider, for corner-forward Amy Quinlisk whose late strike would ultimately prove to be decisive.

As it finished in Meelick on a full-time score of Clare 0-12 – Tipperary 2-07.

John Carmody’s charges will be hoping to get their campaign back on track when they face Galway in a home fixture on Saturday February 17th.
