Colm Collins side were beaten 2-7 to 1-7 by Tipperary, with Brian Fox's late goal sealing the win for the Premier.

Clare had drawn level through a Jamie Malone goal just moments before, having trailed at the break by 1-4 to 0-4.

Collins says their wide count, which went into double figures over the 70 minutes, proved costly.

Kildare are top of Division Three after they beat Offaly, Sligo got the better of Westmeath to leave the Leinster side bottom of the table, while Longford beat Limerick.
