The race to be crowned 2015 Clare Senior Hurling Champions is down to eight teams after this weekend’s action.
Some of the biggest names in Clare hurling are all still involved in the hunt for the Canon, with both of last year’s finalists coming through their playoff rounds.
Champions Cratloe survived a huge scare after conceding three second half goals against O'Callaghans Mills, but hung on to win by 3-19 to 3-14.
Crusheen got the better of Eire Óg in their tie, with the returning Pat Vaughan helping them to a 1-17 to 0-16 win.
Newmarket have 0-15 from Colin Ryan to thank for their 1-17 to 0-13 win over Tulla, while Kilmaley were too strong for Inagh/Kilnamona, winning by 1-20 to 1-14.
All this weekend’s playoff winners will be in one side of the draw, with Sixmilebridge, Clonlara, Clooney/Quin and Ballyea in the other half.
The draw will be made this evening at 6.30pm at Clare GAA Headquarters in Clareabbey.
Elsewhere Whitegate had just the minimum to spare over Tubber in their relegation encounter, winning by 1-14 to 0-16, while Feakle eased past Clarecastle by 3-17 to 1-13.
It means the Magpies, who contested last year’s semi-final, will play off against Tubber with the losers dropping to intermediate for 2016.
In the camogie championship, meanwhile, Newmarket eased into the semi-finals with a comfortable win over Kilkishen.
Champions Kilmaley got back on track, beating Truagh/Clonlara, and Inagh/Kilnamona beat Sixmilebridge.
