The Clare Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals get underway this evening, as last year’s champions Sixmilebridge put their title on the line against 2019 Intermediate champions Broadford.

It’s the first of four senior hurling fixtures across this weekend, all of which being held at a behind-closed-doors Cusack Park.

The Bridge are two from two so far this year, having defeated Eire Og and Whitegate in the opening rounds.

Broadford bounced back from a first round defeat to O Callaghans Mills by knocking out Clonlara a fortnight ago.

Sixmilebridge manager Tim Crowe says he’s expected a tactical battle this evening.

Throw in for that one is at 4.45.

At 6.30, Ballyea play in their eighth successive county quarter final when they take on Kilmaley.

The Black and Amber have victories over Crusheen and Clooney-Quin under their belt so far.

Kilmaley put a first round defeat to Cratloe behind them last time out with a five point victory over Wolfe Tones.

Both sides are looking to go one better after early exits last year.

Ballyea boss Kevin Sheehan says he’s expecting a clash of styles tonight.

Both games in this evening’s double header will be broadcast live on Clare FM, with our Super Hurling weekend in association with Blossoms on the Go Garden Centre, Ennis.
