Clare seniors and minors get ready for historic weekend

Starting with hurling news   and the countdown has begun to this Saturdays All Ireland  hurling qualifer between Clare and Dublin in Croke park

Clare are set to name an unchanged side for the clash with Clonlara’s Nicky O connell the only major injury doubt while John Conlon is expected to recover to take his palce in the half forward line.

Corofin’s Gerry Quinn is also  set to start after he recovered from his hamstring injury picked up in the opening minutes of the defeat by Waterford.

The game wil mark the end of one sides championship ambitions for 2010 with Clare dumped out of the Munster championship by Waterford while Dublin suffered a heavy defeat to Kilkenny in the Lenister semi final.

Quinn thinks a win on Sunday for Clare would  get the season right back on track:

Meanwhile the Clare minor hurlers now know their opposition for Sunday’s Munster final in Thulres with Waterford disposing of Cork last evening in their Munster semi final replay in Walsh park by 2-17 to 1-13.

Waterford have already beaten Clare this year while the Banner have overcome Tipperay Kerry and most recently Limerick on their march to the final on Sunday.

Sunday’s match is the first ever Munster minor final meeting between the two sides  and Clare centre back Kevin Lynch says the sqaud is confident of a good result:
