Munster MHC: Clare 2-20 Limerick 0-18
Clare have put themselves in contention for a place in the Munster minor hurling final.
Ger O’Connell’s side saw off the challenge of Limerick thanks in part to second half goals from Paul Rodgers and Ian O’Brien.
Between them, the inside duo registered 2-15 of Clare’s total with Rodgers accounting for 1-10, including 9 frees.
Clare led by 0-11 to 0-5 at the break but went 1-15 to 0-10 clear when Rodgers produced a sublime finish in the 45th minute.
O’Brien struck in the closing stages to put the icing on top of what was an impressive outing for O’Connell’s youngsters.
Corks win over Waterford qualified the Rebels for the decider, with Clare now going to Fraher Field on next Friday evening for a winner takes all showdown to see who will join them in that final.
