Clare Seal Spot In All Ireland LGFA IFC Quarter Finals

Clare have secured their spot in the quarter finals of the All Ireland Ladies Intermediate Football Championship.

It’s after they gained revenge over Kildare by beating the Lilywhites this afternoon by 1-13 to 0-12.

The Leinster outfit started brightly and led 0-6 to 0-2 after the first quarter.

Clare kicked 1-4 unanswered in the closing stages of the opening half including a Laurie Ryan goal to lead by 1-6 to 0-6 at the break.

The Lilywhites fought back in the second period and levelled the game at 0-11 to 1-8 with ten minutes to play.

Fidelma Marrinan then landed two in a row to send the Banner clear.

Kildare reduced the gap to the minimum with just two minutes left to play, but Clare responded again with two more points from Marrinan and one from Tara Kelly ensuring the Banner would progress to the last eight of the championship.
