Clare Referee Niall Quinn Praises Impact Of FRC Rules

One of Clare’s most experienced football referees is praising the impact of the FRC rules on the quality of games being produced in the National League.

Data collated from the opening two rounds has shown a dramatic decrease in the numbers of fouls and cards in the game, with the scoring rate from play increasing across the divisions.

Miltown clubman Niall Quinn has experienced the new rules from both the sideline and the middle of the field, having been on the line for the Cork v Meath tie on the opening weekend before taking charge of Tipperary’s Division Four win over Longford.

He says the game is being played at a much faster pace, and players are more aware of the consequences of giving fouls away in the scoring zone.
