Clare Reclaim Under 21 Title

Clare are All Ireland Under 21 Champions after a comprehensive 2-28 to 0-12 win over Antrim this evening in Semple Stadium.

Over 11,000 supporters packed into the Thurles venue to see the banner men capture back to back titles, and Ballyea’s Paul Flanagan lift the Cross of Cashel Trophy.

Shane O’Donnell and Davy O’Halloran goaled for the men in saffron and blue, while Cathal Tots O’Connell hit 0-10 of the final tally.

Clare senior starters Tony Kelly, Podge Collins, David McInerney and Colm Galvin were replaced early in the second half as management considered the Senior replay in two weeks time against Cork.

Wolfe Tones club man Aaron Cunningham who picked up an injury in the semi final, came on with ten minutes to go to finish on the field of play and victory with a 22 point margin.
