They struggled for large portions of their win over Laois, before they were soundly beaten by Anthony Daly’s Dublin in the Leinster Final.

However, Clare selector Louis Mulqueen has told Clare FM that he feels Sunday could be the day when Galway return to their best.

Elsewhere, the Munster Council has accepted that there weren’t enough stewards on duty during Tuesday’s Minor hurling final replay between Limerick and Waterford at Semple Stadium.

The start of the game had to be delayed by 10 minutes and the players had their warm-up disrupted after supporters streamed across the pitch to get seating in the Old Stand in Thurles.

The council insist that there was adequate seating provided for all six and a half thousand in attendance.
