The Banner men started the brightest on away soil with Keelan Sexton burying the ball in the back of Donal O’Sullivan’s net inside the opening two minutes.

The epic contest saw the Shannonside rivals level on five separate occasions in the final 15 minutes of the tie, however late insurance scores from Eoin Cleary, Emmet McMahon, Cillian Rouine & Daniel Walsh complemented by an impassable Stephen Ryan in the Clare goalmouth ensured Colm Collin’s charges would hang on for a famous victory.

As Clare emerged worthy winners in Limerick on a full time score of 1-16 to 0-16.

The reward for the Banner County is a Munster Final showdown with The Kingdom on Sunday May 7th at 4pm with a venue to be confirmed in due course.
