Clare Open Their Munster U20 Championship With Impressive Victory Over Tipperary

Clare have opened their Munster U20 championship with an impressive 1-16 to 1-11 victory over Tipperary.

A brace of two pointers, one off either foot, and a goal from Sean Fennell saw the home side in Quilty lead by 1-10 to 1-6 at the break, having played against a strong wind for the opening half.

Tipperary did reduce that lead to three points as the game entered the closing quarter, but Clare’s work rate routinely earned them free which captain Daire Culligan was all too glad to convert.

Clare now face Waterford in Lemybrien next Saturday afternoon with the Deise also winning their opening tie against Limerick
