Clare have maintained their unbeaten start to the National Football League Division Two.
Colm Collins side had a 2-11 to 0-11 win over Down in Cusack Park, with Shane Brennan and David Tubridy finding the net in the opening half.
It leaves the Banner with three points from the opening two games, with a trip to Galway to come in two weeks time.
