Clare have formally lodged an appeal against Ian Galvin’s red card from last weekend’s Munster hurling championship win over Cork.

The Clonlara man was sent off by referee Paud O’Dwyer for an off the ball incident, with the Carlow official indicating that Galvin had allegedly struck a Cork defender.

Clare FM understands the appeal was lodged yesterday morning, with a time and date for a hearing to be confirmed in the coming days.

Clare face two crucial games in a seven day period starting next weekend, with Limerick and Waterford coming to Cusack Park in the last games of the round robin series.
