The Banner got off to a flying start – their first score of the day was a goal from Ciara Hickey early on.
Tipp kept themselves in it for most of the second half, but a flurry of scores coming up to half time saw Clare pull away to a 1-8 to 6 points lead at the break.
However, four unanswered points early in the second half again brought Tipperary back into the game, and victory was sealed with a 32nd Lorraine O’Shea goal.
