Clare in danger of relegation after Limerick loss

Clare's winless record on the road in Division Three continued this afternoon with a 2-10 to 1-5 loss against Limerick in Newcastlewest.

Failure to score for the final 26 minutes of the contest was crucial, as Limeick hit 1-5 unanswered to move on to four points in the League table along with Clare.

Limerick, who played with the aid of a strong breeze in the opening half, led by 1-4 to 0-3 at the break, with goal from Seanie Buckley inside the opening 15 minutes.

Clare rallied and drew level inside five minutes of the restart, with Pat Burke converting a penalty won by Podge Collins.

That's where the Banner scoring stalled, and a second Limerick goal from Peter Nash with two minutes to play was the nail in the Clare coffin.

Up next is a must win clash with an already promoted Fermanagh in Cusack Park next Sunday, with Clare's Division Three status on the line.
