There will be little rest for Clare’s All Ireland winning hurlers, meanwhile, who return to their clubs in the coming days for the resumption of the county hurling Championship.
While action resumes after a 20-week break, fans are set for many action-packed games in the weeks to come as the rest of the competition is quickly completed.=
The Round 2 action begins on Saturday afternoon, when Newmarket-on-Fergus take on Tulla in Clarecastle from 2 o’clock.
There is also a double-header in Cusack Park this Saturday – at three, Clooney/Quin meet Sixmilebridge while Cratloe take on St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield from 4:30.
The county grounds play host to another double-header on Sunday – Kilmaley and Tubber meet at 1:30 while there’s a 3:00 throw-in for the meeting of Inagh/Kilnamona and Crusheen.
Sunday’s other Senior A Championship game sees Clonlara take on Clarecastle at 4:30.
In the Senior B Championship, O’Callaghans Mills play Ruan and Smith O’Briens face Eire Og on Saturday in Sixmilebridge. It’s the same venue for Sunday’s East Clare derby of Scariff and Broadford while Wolfe Tones play Ballyea in Newmarket on Fergus.
There’s no action in the Clare Senior Football Championship this weekend, but Saturday does see the Intermediate Final between Kilmihil and St. Joseph’s Miltown. Throw-in in Cooraclare is at 3:30.
