Clare hurlers boosted by release of McInerney for Waterford Crystal Cup q-final

 

The Clare senior hurling side have been boosted ahead of Saturday’s Waterford Crystal q-final with LIT by the news that James McInerney will be lining out for his county rather than his college side.

The Newmarket defender who started last week’s opening Waterford crystal cup encounter at full back has been released by LIT manger Davy Fitzgerald after a request from the Clare management.

The college side are still set to call on almost half a dozen Clare players for the Sixmilebridge encounter and Fitzgerald told Clare FM the county side will be strong going into Sunday’s encounter:

 

And staying with hurling news and NUIG are set to feature almost 10 Clare players for their Walsh cup tie with Kilkenny this weekend.

The Fitzgibbon cup champions take on Brian Cody’s men in Kilkenny at noon on Saturday and are captained by Pat Kelly while county senior players Donal Tuohy,John Conlon,Domhnall O Donovan and Caimin Morey are also set to play for the Galway college.
