Clare’s GAA, Ladies Football and Camogie clubs are set to benefit from a one million euro donation from Limerick Businessman JP McManus.

County boards across the country have been receiving their cheques in the post this lunchtime and under the instructions of the MC Manus foundation, the funding will be divided equally across all local clubs.

This means Clare’s 103 clubs will each receive a donation of just below €10,000 to support running costs, facilities and equipment for the year ahead.

Chief Operating Officer of Clare GAA Deirdre Murphy says that Christmas has come early for thousands of young players.
