The head of the Gaa in Clare has refused to be drawn on speculation linking former Kerry boss Mick O’ Dwyer with the vacant Clare football manager’s position.
Chairman of the county board Michael O Neill told delegates at the October meeting of Clare Gaa that he hoped a preferred candidate would be selected within the next fortnight for ratification at the next meeting in November.
The Ballyea man also revealed that he didn’t agree with the speculation surrounding the job and that a number of candidates were currently being spoken to about the position.
