Clare Gaa gets ready for AGM

Starting with gaa and proposals to allow clubs deal with the current economic situation by amalgamating and a reduction in the 13 day rule are just some of the motions set to be discussed at tonights Clare Gaa agm.

The Clar also sees several motions in regards to playing structures and dates and times for various championships.

All current officers will be returned while the meeting will also hear the Gaa made a profit of 17 thousand euro in 2011.

The first motion on tonights Clar is from Miltown St Joseph’s and their  hopes to change the football  playing rules by forcing players to kick the ball after three consecutive handpasses,a move falso favoured by Ruan.

Scariff have also proposed that due to dwindling numbers in rural areas and the economic downturn clubs be allowed to amalgamate.

Meanwhile Whitegate are also looking to reduce the current 13 day rule in relation to inter county fixtures to alleviate club fixture congestion by lowering the number of days club players are without club action to 10 days.

Clooney quin meanwhuile is proposing that a losers round be introudced in the u21 hurling championship while inagh Kilnamona are also looking to have an electronic scoreboard introduced in Cusack park.

The meeting will also hear that Clare gaa  ran a  profit of 17 thousand euro for 2011 with the breakdown on figures showing over 204 thousand euro spent on players travel expenses out of a total of over half a million.

Proceedings  get underway at the Auburn Lodge tonight at 6-15 with the registration  of delegates.
