Clare Forward Line Need To Reduce Kelly Workload – Sparrow

A former Clare All-Ireland winner says the Banner’s forward line need to take some of the workload from Tony Kelly ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wexford.

Brian Lohan and Davy Fitzgeralds’ charges will do battle on Saturday with an All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Final place at stake.

Ballyea man Kelly has scored 30 points across Clare’s two championship games against Limerick and Laois so far this campaign.

Meanwhile, the Clare County Board has confirmed it’s appealing David McInerney’s red card he was given in that win over Laois – the Tulla man was given a straight red for an off the ball incident on Saturday.

If that’s not overturned, he’ll be unavailable for selection against Wexford.
