Colm Collins charges led the Saffrons a narrow 0-04 to 0-02 after a wasteful opening half.

It took 19 minutes of play to register the first score through a Martin O’Leary pointed free.

Shane McGrath added the second with a point from play in the 26th minute, while Sean Collins added another moments later. David Tubridy pointed a free in the 32 minute to make it 0-04 to no score, before Antrim closed out the half with points through James Laverty and Thomas McGann, half time score Clare leading 0-04 to 0-02.

Podge Collins was introduced at half time in place of Jamie Malone and added two crucial points from play, while McGrath added two more.

By the 63rd minute Antrim had it back to a 2 point game at 0-08 to 0-06, but a strong finish from the banner men proved their hunger to see the back of the basement division, and Tubridy finished the scoring. Full time score in Creggan Clare 0-10, Antrim 0-08.

Wicklow scored three injury time goals in their final round game against Tipperary to win in Semple Stadium at 4-12 to 0-22.

It added more weight to the banner men’s win as Wicklow could have stolen the second promotion spot with their own win.

Clare and Tipperary finish the campaign level on 11 points meaning they will contest the division four league final in Croke Park on Saturday April 26th.
