A goal five minutes from time by Corofin's Jamie Malone sealed a 1-18 to 0-10 win over Westmeath, the Banners third victory of the campaign.
It leaves Colm Collins side second on the league standings, ahead of Tipperary on scoring difference.
Collins says while the win was a good one, they need to continue to improve with a trip to face Offaly to come next weekend.
Elsewhere in Division Three, Kildare battled past Limerick 1-11 to 1-10, two early goals proved crucial as Tipperary overcame Offaly by 2-11 to 0-12, while Longford beat Sligo 1-17 to 2-9.
It means Kildare stay top of the standings, with Clare in second, ahead of Tipperary.
