Clare have fallen to a second defeat of the Sam Maguire series at the hands of Monaghan this afternoon.
A dominant first half, which included four two pointers, had seen the Banner take a 0-14 0-7 lead into the half time break.

A late Clare goal proved only a consolation however, as spurred on by seven second half points from Jack McCarron and a Conor McCarthy goal, Monaghan clawed their way back into the game and recorded their second win of the group stages by 1-25 to 1-16.
Next up in two weeks, Clare round off their group phase campaign with a crucial clash against Leinster Champions Louth.
